YSHIELD® FL4 Window Film Edge Sealant is a protective lacquer specifically designed to prevent corrosion at the edges of YSHIELD® Window Films. Due to the metal layers within the film, unsealed edges are vulnerable to damage over time. This sealant provides a long-lasting barrier, extending the film’s lifespan. A single 10ml (0.34 oz) applicator covers approximately 328 feet of foil edges or 65 feet of cut window film.
Required Step:
To ensure complete protection, the Window Film Edge Sealant must be applied 8 weeks after installation of the film. This waiting period allows excess moisture to evaporate, preventing premature sealing of trapped water, which could lead to film damage. Skipping this step increases the risk of corrosion, reduces film longevity, and voids any warranty.
